The Alexandria Report

The Alexandria Report

A screen shot of Alexandria.

Memphis is dead. He fell victim to one of (if not the) worst weather disasters that befell Metro Manila. But there are many good souls around the world, and through them, I acquired Alexandria: a Lenovo G450 laptop. This sub-section, like the Memphis Report, is a collection of notes and reminders about what I've done with this computer.

4 Gigabytes and Almost a Doorstop

It's been a while since I last posted in this part of my blog because ever since I installed Lucid Lynx and configured it to my liking, I've chosen to stick with it. Lucid Lynx Setup

I did mention that I was quite fickle, right? So yesterday, I downloaded the Lucid Lynx AMD64 torrent from the Ubuntu site, spent the waiting hours backing up my files and settings to Alexandria's storage partition, created a Live USB stick, and tested the thing. It didn't take two hours until I decided to fully install the Lynx on Alexandria.

Basic Peripherals

Apparently, there are a few people out there who are really interested in my Quinarayan project; and they're a bit disappointed because I seem to have abandoned the whole thing. Well, I haven't. It's just that last year's great flooding really held me back a long way. Things are getting better now and I think I'll finally have to time to work on Quinarayan again. But before that, more reminiscing.
