GPlusActs is a Google+ activities saver. It downloads a person's activities feed and saves its contents on a local database.
For some reason that I nor many others will not understand, I like Google+. I've been looking for ways to have the contents I post on it on my site, like how I used to post stuff from my Twitter timeline. But Google seem to have been holding back on releasing a sane public API for getting our feeds on to our sites.
I think it was only in 2013 that they made the G+ API available but the release was timely as at the time, I was looking for something that I could build a Django application around. This Google+ Activities Saver is actually the first Django application that I've written.
My goals for making this app are simple: learn the basics of making a Django app, learn how to create management commands, and learn how to interact with the application by using the management shell (or whatever that's called).
Currently, GPlusActs has no web interface administration but I plan on making one in the future when I go back to learning more about the Django template system.
Demo on Betamini
I'm currently using my Betamini sub-domain as a demo for this application. Check it out here.
